Teleporting one planet to such a close proximity to another would again cause catastrophic gravitational shifts, not to mention the almost certainty of the two planets colliding.Įven if Goku were physically capable of it, moving the planet in the way you're suggesting would be as much a danger to it as whatever threat he'd be trying to save the planet from, if not moreso. Not to mention Goku needs a ki source to lock onto, which means that almost certainly he'd be using it to reach another planet. You'd be removing it from its existing orbit around its star as well as the influence of any other planets and moons nearby, which would cause massive gravitational shifts that would almost certainly destroy the planet, or at least destroy all life on it. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.ĭarkprince410 wrote:Not to mention the dangers involved in using the Shunkan Idou to teleport a planet away. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.Īn author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. ![]() The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. Power levels establish tension and drama. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself. Given that Cell works on the whole process of "genetic memory", because Goku's genetic material at the time had "remembered' the Shunkan Idou, Cell, upon integrating Goku's material into him when he regenerated, learned it as well.Doctor. It's possible that he's just able to pick up techniques far more readily than anyone else can, given his nature and repertoire of techniques.Īlternately, there are some fan theories that, since Goku's genetic material following the explosion was floating about along with Cell's, that Cell, when he regenerated, somehow incorporated Goku's current genetic material into the mix as well. It may involve some kind of ritual or other circumstances that only those on Yardrat are capable of performing, and Goku just isn't able to mimic that on his own.Īs for how Cell came to learn it, there's no information really to give us a concrete explanation as to why. We honestly don't know how it's taught, so it's something that Goku may not be able to physically impart to someone else normally. ![]() We reserve the right to remove submissions at our discretion.
